When Lotus herded out of most of the new concept car at 2010 Paris Motor Show, we are more than a little surprised. Sure, many of the design does not have a chance to make it into production, but even the new Esprit or Elan would cost millions to build a boutique car – the money just does not have Lotus.

Auto Express reported that the Department of English for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) has rejected the loan car for £ 27,500,000 ($ 50,000,000 U.S.). The money was reportedly intended to build a new factory in Hethel, Norfolk, has made several new model while also employing other Brits 1200. Lotus refused to return despite the fact that the government has approved £ 450000000 body in the form of loans for cars such as Jaguar and General Motors.

this car is obviously disappointed with the decision to disallow the loan, but Team Lotus will not go down without a fight. Lotus released a statement saying that the car is exploring all options, adding that the next step may be “transmit renewed bid for round two of the RGF (government debt), which is scheduled to close on July 1.”

What is the latest setback means the Lotus? We are not privy to the financial statements of the car, but we’re guessing Lotus really need this money to build any and all new products. If you do not get the proper financing, we think that there will be no new Lotus model in the near future.
